Rector Holds Evening of Conversation with Theology Faculty Students
On November 29 the University Rector, Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Balci, and Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Anvarbek Mokeyev, held an evening of conversation with the students of the Faculty of Theology.
The evening of conversation started with an introductory video to the university. During the conversation the Rector spoke on the opportunities offered by the Faculty of Theology, human qualities necessary for success, and shared his experience. During his speech he said: “Since you are acquiring knowledge in the field of Theology, the proper dissemination of Islam or its distortion depends upon you. The responsibility you have as an expert who possesses knowledge in religion is much greater than that of the rest of us. The nation will change based on your deeds. With that being said, make it your goal to avoid mistakes.” He also encouraged the students to properly use means of communication and new technologies.
The Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Anvarbek Mokeyev took note of positive and negative aspects that have been characterizing the observance of religious practices of Islam by the youth in the country in the last years, and stressed that great responsibility for spreading the right information rests on the students’ shoulders.
At the end of the meeting they answered the questions given by the students.
We note that a month ago an evening of conversation was held with the students of the Faculty of Humanities.
