Rector Holds Evening of Conversation with Faculty of Communication
On February 15 the University Rector, Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Balci, and Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr Anvarbek Mokeyev, held an evening of conversation with the students of the Faculty of Communication. The evening was attended by the teaching staff and students of the Faculty of Communication.
The evening of conversation started with an introductory video to the university. During the conversation the Rector spoke on the opportunities offered by the Faculty of Communication, human qualities necessary for success, and shared his experience. During his speech he noted: “You have the great responsibility of spreading the right information among people. The data you give must not be a lie.” He also encouraged the students to properly use means of communication and new technologies. The Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Anvarbek Mokeyev, advised the students become leading professionals in their fields and take part in state and international contests.
At the end of the meeting the students that attend the event received answers to their questions.
We remind that such evening of conversation has been held with the students of the Faculty of Theology.
The list of some of the questions given by students at the evening of conversation:
1. Student: Why is it no longer possible to access internet in the reading halls?
Rector: The main reason that it is no longer possible to access internet in the reading halls was that students used it for purposes other than studying. We are imposing such limitations for reasons of worthlessness and irrelevance.
2. Student: Can the university afford to purchase late model cameras?
Rector: We put our efforts to purchase new equipment for each faculty every year. The cameras you are using during classes are not old either. God willing, we are planning on getting new technologies this year as well.
3. Student: Students shooting short films for their graduation work are experiencing problems concerning finance. Can the Rectorate provide assistance with this matter?
Rector: It is nearly impossible to help every student. However, if a film to be made is going to be of value to the public and it is approved by the Rectorate, two or three students will be provided financial aid.
