On October 3 of this year the Opening Ceremony for the 2017-2018 academic year of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University took place in K. Tynystanov Gathering Hall.
The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Metin Kılıç, the University Rector, Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Balci, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Asylbek Kulmyrzayev, and the Rector of Selçuk University, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şahin, the teaching staff and the students.

At the ceremony the national anthems of the two countries were performed, and an introductory video to the educational institution was shown. An open lesson in the new academic year was conducted by the Rector of Selçuk University, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şahin. In addition, a letter from the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Turkey, Ass. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Tekin, was read out.
The University Rector, Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Balci, who delivered the opening remarks, shared plans for the new academic year, and expressed confidence that these plans will be carried out successfully by the entire university in harmony and unity.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Metin Kılıç, highlighted the achievements of the institution, and wished it success.
The evening ended by a concert program with performances by the Turkic World Orchestra, Dastan Komuzists Ensemble, and Manastyn Kyzdary Dance Company.
