On October 7 of this year a selection round of the Manas Cup-2017 Football Tournament was held by the Students Affairs Office, the Branch of Students and Graduates Affairs, and the Higher School of Physical Education and Sports, and the Alumni Association. The overall number of competing teams was 9, 4 of which qualified for the finals.

The Football Tournament was attended by the University Rector, the Vice-Rector, the teaching staff, the students, and the supporters of the teams. Rector Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Balci, who delivered the opening remarks, noted that a good tradition had begun, and told that he would always be proud of the University’s alumni.

“Every graduate represents the face of the university, and you represent it with honor,” - Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Asylbek Kulmyrzayev said, and wished all the teams success.
The teams competed on a lot in the following groups: Group A – KTMU, KTRK (the Public Broadcasting Corporation of the Kyrgyz Republic), Demirbank; Group B – the Association of Private Employers, ELTR (Public Television and Radio Company), Megacom; Group C – Hyatt Regency, Ambassador, Kyrgyz Concept. Two graduates of Manas University on each team participated in the game.

The match passed in an exciting and tense atmosphere. KTRK, Ambassador, Megacom, and Hyatt Regency teams made it to the finals. The aforementioned teams are to compete for first place on October 14.
The main requirement of the Football Tournament is that there should be two graduates of Manas University on each team.

And its goal is to strengthen ties between the university and its graduates, enhance cooperation with other institutions, and to encourage the participants to become active in sports.
