On May 4, 2016, in the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University was held a memorial day of the famous Kazakh author Abai Kunanbaev.

The program was prepared by the Department of Students Affairs, and International Student Coordinator along with the Embassy of Kazakhstan and Bishkek.

Empowered Ambassador of Kazakhstan Aiymdos Bozjigitov,  Ambassador of  Ukraine Nikolai Doshenko, employees of the embassies of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Ukraine, and the rector of the university Prof. Sebahattin Baljy attended the event.

The works of  Kunanbaev were demonstrated with the various shows by the students of KTMU.

The worldwide well-known author Abai Kunanbaev is recognized as a great poet, writer, public figure and as a founder of modern Kazakh written literature.
