WEEK OF TURKMENISTAN
On 26th of February, within the framework of the 25th anniversary celebration events of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Student Council Presidency and International Student Coordination organized Closing Program of Turkmenistan Week as the continuation of the 'Country Weeks' series, which was coordinated by Office of Student’s Affairs. The program was held via Google Meet app; Rector of our University, Vice Consul of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Bishkek, Heads of Departments and students attended this event.
The Rector of our University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan in his opening speech said, 'I express my gratitude to all of you for implementing such a valuable project. Turkmenistan is an important country for us. We wish to see more Turkmen students at our university. We will ask to bring one Alabai dog from Turkmenistan to our university. Moreover, we plan to bring Ahal Teke horse too.'
During the program, parents of Turkmen students made their short speeches and pointed that they were proud of children due to studying at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University with high-quality education. After all, alumni of Manas University who are Serdar Aripov, engineer at huge construction company in Russia; Shatlyk Ovezov, owner of studio in Ashgabat; Kerim Jumaev, Dean at University in Ashgabat shared feelings and thoughts about Manas University's significant contribution to their lives. They were able to upgrade themselves in different fields while studying at Manas University. For instance, improving language skills, exchanging cultures, acquaintance with new friends and so on. Additionally, alumni said they have missed university life.
At the end of the program Hekim Ovezov, who is one of the relatives of our students, joined the event from Moscow and performed on Turkmen National Instrument which is called 'Dutar' as well as Hydyr Atanaev who also joined the program from Moscow with his Turkmen song to a guitar accompaniment. Eventually, the event was ended by taking photos and amazing Turkmen song.
